Job Description
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Leadership
- Develop new business opportunities with new and existing clients
- Deliver and/or exceed sales objectives by pro actively seeking new business, maintaining and improving customer relationships and reviving business with past customers through visiting stores on a regular basis.
- Generate market interest in our product range and apply various sales skills to capitalise on sales opportunities via multiple sales mediums such as Web, Social media and Phone.
- Effectively deal with telephone, email, in shop and support enquiries by attending to requests of the customer in a timely manner.
- Maintain current knowledge of Dominant Music’s product range including features and important selling points compared with competitor’s products and be able to communicate them effectively. Be aware of current market conditions and trends in the musical instrument industry.
- Sales Representation
- Develop new sales, maintain and improve customer relationships by visiting customer’s stores/sites and ensure model stocks and dealership agreements are maintained.
- General Duties
- Enhance the reputation of the organisation by acting as an ambassador at all times.
- Maintain and manage data record and all linked data to ensure it’s constant accuracy and integrity.
- Uphold all workplace health and safety obligations and take reasonable care so as to prevent accidents or injuries to self or others.
- Perform other duties as required that align with Dominant Music’s goals
Qualifications
- Knowledge
- Intimate knowledge of a broad range of musical instruments and accessories is desirable
- Expertise
- Significant experience in a sales role (On road sales preferable)
- Familiarity with the wholesale sector is desirable
- Playing a musical instrument is desirable.
- Sales ability
- Demonstrated natural sales and prospecting skills
- Ability to develop positive relationships with clients and use appropriate influence and negotiation skills to achieve positive sales outcomes
- Possess a demonstrated commitment to sales as a profession
- Leadership
- Ability to act as a role model in operating and responding to changes including pressure situations with an appropriate level of patience, flexibility and resilience.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- IT Skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, email client, web browser and Excel skills.
- Comfortable with the use of Mac operating system
- Data entry skills for updating sales leads and outcomes into a customer management system
- Interpersonal Skills
- Demonstrated ability to articulate information and interact effectively with a range of stakeholders including members of the public, industry participants and colleagues.
- Self – motivated & effective time management
- Commercially astute, results/goals orientated

- Written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality documents which are concise, error free, and with attention to detail on accuracy grammar, and professional layout.
