Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) is a beautiful modern facility staffed by highly trained caring individuals. DMH provides an array of technology usually only found in large cities including a 160 slice CT scanner, 1.5 MRI, 3D mammography, ultrasound and ECHO. Other services provided at DMH include surgery, pediatrics, endoscopy, nuclear medicine and physical therapy. Our specialty clinic brings physicians such as cardiologists, urologists, orthopedists, dermatologists and oncologists to Taylor County so that patients will not have to travel to surrounding cities for these services.

The primary purpose of this position it to perform clerical support in the following areas of clinic billing: patient accounting, insurance filing, insurance research and follow-up, bad debt preparation and write-off.

• Handle incoming patient account questions. Work to resolution.
• Assist with Athena reports as requested.
• Post adjustments as required.
• Log clinic Medicare bad debt when accounts returned from collection agency.
• Works Athena billing buckets as required. Hold, unpostables and eligibility buckets.
• Work claims list to conclusion.
• Post collection agency payments in Athena; save remits per current protocol.
• Fax all claim attachments. EOB’s to Athena as required.
• Work A/R reports daily / monthly reports as required. I.E, credit balance reports
• Collect provider/patient information for appeals.
• Keeps current on payer billing compliance correspondence and communicate updates to appropriate colleagues.
• Responsible for quarterly Medicare credit balance report.
• Creates trouble tickets/cases as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Previous billing and Athena experience is preferred.
