Job Description

As a Senior Legal Counsel, your role would be to:

  • Monitor, maintain,and improve global procedures and standards to ensure compliance with privacy and other regulatory frameworks applicable to Docplanner in the markets where it operates (some examples: GDPR, LGPD and KVKK; the EU AI Act; the EU Digital Services Act; the EU Data Act, EU P2B Regulation, the European Healthcare Data Space Regulation)

  • Deal with the management of data security breaches, both at strategic and granular level

  • Provide legal advice and strategic guidance regarding privacy and regulatory compliance to other business functions and senior leaders

  • Develop an automation-first or automation-empowered approach to routine legal and privacy compliance tasks, ensuring efficiency thanks to the use of well-designed processes and internal or external tech tools

  • Conduct privacy impact assessments, legitimate interest balance assessments, and other privacy and legal assessments as required

  • Work closely with other Docplanner lawyers, InfoSecurity professionals and Risk experts at global and local level, project-manage the implementation of new initiatives and controls, and integrate best practices into internal operations.

  • Design and provide training to the Docplanner workforce 

  • Identify, flag, measure, and document legal risks and support the group wide privacy risk management

  • Draft and review third party contracts with large vendors and enterprise clients or partners

  • Support the Chief Legal and Risk Officer on due diligence activities in the fields of privacy and digital regulations, as well as in the design and execution of the privacy and digital regulations compliance roadmap

Qualifications

  • Law degree and qualified to practice as in-house lawyer in your country of residence

  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of privacy and data protection, with experience dealing with other regulations applicable to digital services providers and/or digital healthcare providers a strong plus

  • Experience - or at least, a strong interest - in designing and implementing efficient and scalable processes, automation solutions, and tech-enabled solutions for the delivery of legal services

  • Fire-starter who can clearly demonstrate ability to be proactive without continuous supervision and to lead strategic legal projects autonomously

  • Quick decision-making with good business judgment (balancing both legal and commercial aspects), oftentimes in ambiguous situations

  • Detail-oriented, well-organised and hands-on, ready to jump in and “get your hands dirty” as and when required, fixing issues first hand and be able to be a “doer” as much as a project manager and mentor

  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills

  • Full professional proficiency and ability to work in English required (and professional knowledge of Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and/or Italian languages a plus)
