Introduction of the role

This newly created position reports to the Group Tax Counsel in Luxembourg and is supported by the Tax accounting services team in Budapest. Job Description

  • Preparation / oversight of sales tax returns in North America and management of the entire compliance and remittance obligations in 55+ jurisdictions.
  • Preparation / oversight of periodic and annual EU VAT returns for Luxembourg entities, recapitulative statements, and any other indirect tax compliance obligations.
  • Preparation of EU VAT OSS returns in Luxembourg and Cyprus.
  • Preparation of VAT returns in relevant countries outside the EU.
  • Management and oversight of external service providers to prepare annual Luxembourg corporate tax returns.
  • Preparation of Luxembourg withholding tax returns.
  • Calculation of tax provisions, review of tax assessments, analysis of tax assessments, and journal entries for tax accounts for monthly and annual accounting close.
  • Prepare tax working papers for various group entities in Luxembourg, Cyprus, and other countries to facilitate tax reporting and audit support; manage and prepare deliverables for tax and financial statements audits.
  • Manage e-filing of tax returns.
  • Prepare and manage communications with the tax authorities.
  • Perform analytical review and investigate any tax variances compared to previous periods; forecast tax liability for management reporting and other deliverables.
  • Complete required tax reporting and payments and update internal tax and accounting trackers.
  • Communicate any tax updates to relevant team members.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks assigned by the direct superior and/or management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or Business; Master’s degree a plus
  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) a plus
  • 4+ years in a similar role in multinational company; Big 4 experience a plus
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of tax
  • Willingness to learn and master tax compliance matters in Luxembourg and foreign jurisdictions where the group has reporting obligations
  • Fluent in English, working proficiency in French a plus
