Job Description

Role:                     L3 Linux Admin- Veritas/VCS

Location:             Framingham, MA

JD detail

•             Overall 10-11 years of Linux System Administration with minimum of 8+ years of recent production support experience as opposed to build experience

•             Must have experience in Veritas – Clusters + Volume Manager + File System

•             Must have expert level experience in manual UNIX and Veritas Commands and Utilities

•             In-depth understanding and details of DR steps will be critical in selection process

•             Ability to quickly review situations and provide solutions will be a very important criterion for selection

•             Some experience in SAN / NAS integration will be highly desirable

•             Candidate must have excellent communication skills

•             Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and experience performing root cause analysis.  This includes troubleshooting any and all issues with system configurations, backups, files systems,  and user access.

•             Experience administering virtualized server environments with VMware vSphere/ESXi

•             Monitor infrastructure availability and performance

•             Automate system patch availability, configuration management, and compliance auditing using Red Hat Satellite server, Ansible, Puppet, and/or other automated CM products.

•             Experience writing and managing scripts and utilities to automate day to day systems administration and configuration management tasks.

•             Functional working knowledge in these areas:  MTP, HTTP, LDAP, Kerberos, NFS, DNS, DHCP, HTTP proxy, and SMB.

•             Ability to do bash scripting

•             Create documentation on current processes and newly engineered solutions.

•             Ability to use Puppet

•             Basic networking knowledge and hands on, including DNS and Web Service configuration

•             Understanding of Agile Software development processes.

•             NTP strong knowledge

•             Raid technologies

•             Performance tuning

•             Knowledge on  server monitoring tools

•             10-11 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

•             LPIC-2 Advanced Level Linux Professional

•             LPIC-3 Senior Level Linux Professional

•             RHCDS Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist

•             RHCE   Red Hat Certified Engineer

•             RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator
