Job Description
The Overnight Eating Disorder Technician (Overnight ED Tech) is responsible for assisting and supporting patients through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge. Overnight ED Tech is responsible for contributing insightful, practical, and meaningful information to the treatment planning process. Overnight ED Tech responsibilities primarily include ensuring patient safety, conducting routine safety observations, maintaining a safe and clean therapeutic environment, and supporting patients.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to stay awake through the entire shift.
- Completes overnight checklist.
- Completes light household cleaning.
- Completes temperature checks on all refrigerator appliances.
- Supports patient during admission processes. This may include checking in patient belongings, acclimating patient to the program and milieu.
- Effectively and professionally communicates with families/loved ones, as appropriate.
- Assists and supports patients in day-to-day activities including, but not limited to waking routines, morning hygiene, nighttime routine, evening hygiene, bathroom observations, and safety overnight observations.
- Provides milieu management throughout the treatment experience and communicates with all team members.
- Contributes to the well-being of all patients by serving as a positive role model.
- Completes all shift notes, rounds and other required documentation by the end of shift.
Qualifications
- One year of experience in mental health treatment or a Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must possess a current driver’s license and be in good standing
