Job Description

Job Description

We are looking for a Business Operations Manager to lead operations and develop our partnership with OPay in Nigeria.

Based in Lagos, you will be the main point of contact for OPay, local partners and our international teams. Your objective will be to increase usage, improve conversion and drive revenue growth.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with OPay on operational, commercial and technical matters.

  • Develop relationships with aggregators, telecom operators, media agencies and content providers; negotiate commercial terms and service-level agreements, and organise performance reviews and joint action plans.

  • Monitor and drive business KPIs, including acquisition, active users, churn, average revenue per user and revenue.

  • Build and track monthly forecasts and budgets with Finance, identify gaps and implement corrective actions.

  • Reconcile volumes and revenues with partners, and follow up on revenue-share statements, invoicing and payments.

  • Optimise user journeys, conversion, payment success rates, retention and re-engagement, including through A/B testing.

  • Coordinate marketing activities and media buying—performance campaigns, in-app placements, bundles and promotions—and measure their return on investment.

  • Lead cross-functional projects covering product and service launches, technical integrations, marketing optimisations, and financial, contractual or regulatory initiatives. Define responsibilities, monitor timelines and deliverables, and escalate risks.

  • Ensure operations comply with Nigerian regulations and partner policies.

  • Monitor service quality, fraud indicators, complaints and online reputation, working closely with technical teams, partners and Customer Care.

  • Continuously benchmark the Nigerian market and develop the local content offering by identifying and supporting relevant partners.

  • Provide regular reporting to the Country Manager and international teams, and propose new business development initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

  • You have at least four years of successful experience in business operations, account management, partnerships or business development.

  • You have experience in fintech, mobile payments, telecoms, value-added services or digital services, in Nigeria or another African market.

  • You have managed partners such as telecom operators, aggregators, payment providers or media agencies.

  • You are comfortable working with KPIs, P&L statements, forecasts and dashboards. You have advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills; SQL and BI tools are a plus.

  • You can coordinate several projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.

  • You understand digital marketing channels, particularly acquisition, CRM and conversion funnels.

  • You are organised, detail-oriented and analytical, with initiative and a strong sense of ownership.

  • You enjoy working both collaboratively and independently in an international environment, and have a genuine interest in mobile, fintech and digital services.
