The Sr Cloud Engineer will work as a part of a cross functional teams to develop products, business processes and online commercialization of cloud applications. This role provides technical excellence and execution in providing flexible and resilient Information Technology solutions, with a focus on Cloud Model engineering. The Sr Cloud Engineer completes analysis and design in support of goals, testing and performance evaluation, stability and manageability improvement, system documentation, creating/refining operations support and process for delegation, troubleshooting of complex scenarios. This role will support and develop the foundation infrastructure systems and services to environments and ecosystems hosting commerce and revenue-generating products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Monitors and maintains operation systems, applications and related infrastructure focusing on Cloud Model engineering at the foundation

• Engineers and supports the design, creation and development of software services in the private clout computing environment
• Works closely with developers on application design, performance and troubleshooting
• Supports engineering efforts to further develop and deploy methods and models used in the practice
• With some support from senior members of the team, collaborates or consults with Operations, Development and other engineering teams on deployment knowledge transfer and troubleshooting/support efforts for more complex issues
• Leads and participates in testing and evaluating new products, technologies and techniques to support the team in goals and deliverables
• Engineers and supports the use of operating systems, virtualization containers, applications and related infrastructure, providing a 7X24 highly available cloud environment

Works to ensure Quality Control

• Implement and monitor cloud engineering standards, by managing and evolving environment auditing scrips to ensure deployed resources adhere to policies
• Designs, develops, revises and implements policies, standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to effectively administer the cloud environment
• Implement and support system security standards, SOX and PCI compliance and ITIL standards
• Assists in additional audits and auditing as required

Technology Evaluation and Leadership

• Drive efforts to develop and implement a cloud environment which supports current and future business needs
• Mentors/guides other team members and maintains relations ships with peers to share knowledge and experience
• Stays abreast and current on relevant technologies and practices while continuing to search for the next emerging solution
• Evaluates technology and techniques to implement and maintain cloud environment

Required / Minimum: 

• Bachelor's Degree in a computer-related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years Engineering experience with 3+ of those years in a technology company with cloud engineering experience
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Efficient organizational and time management skills
• Works independently with users to tune query performance
• Demonstrates an ability to grasp business knowledge and apply it to technical design.
• Solid leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in effectively influencing others.

  Preferred: 

• Experience with technologies such as visualization and fast provisioning
• Professional Certification in a one or more other system technology
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
