Job Description

What You'll Do:

The Financial Analyst provides accurate, data-based analysis and presentation on the company’s financials. This role researches, analyzes and prepares the company’s business information, including but not limited to, budgets, forecasts, pricing, planning and control to aid in the company make well informed decisions and monitor financial movements. The Financial Analyst will also support the company’s financial reporting systems.

Completes regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis

  • Gathers, completes, and summarizes analysis and makes calls out observations, and make recommendations which will assist with assessing present and future financial performance
  • Using variance analysis and identifies and shares trends to allow the business to react to changing business environments
  • Coordinates with all levels to gather, review, analyze and consolidate financial data for reporting.
  • Responsible for performance of projects to improve process efficiency and performance
  • Assists in the development of budgets and forecasts including, but not limited to, projections for assets under management, revenue, and expenses
  • Continuously monitors actual vs budgeted/forecasted performance, bringing to leaders any trends and/or observations to ensure action can be taken as needed
  • Researches and stays informed of industry trends to provide recommendations and improvements for tools or methodology to improve reporting and analysis

Supports financial reporting systems

  • Ensures consistent, accurate financial and operation data is used in all financial systems
  • Supports tactical and strategic initiatives for reporting, data warehousing and profitability reporting
  • Enhances business and technical processes by helping to clarify and increase efficiency of processes.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation and/or technical solutions and makes recommendations for improvements and presents them to leaders. Works with cross functional teams for implementation as required

Provides insights and education of Financial trends and analysis

  • Researches and stays informed of industry trends to provide recommendations and improvements for tools or methodology to improve reporting and analysis
  • Provides guidance to more junior members of the team
  • Provide training or education to support analysis

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:
Required / Minimum:

  • 2+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong business acumen with proven ability to effectively partner with functions outside of Finance.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools; advanced Excel skills and hands on work with financial databases.
  • Demonstrated success in developing tools and improving financial analysis and system added value to the functional group.
  • Proven experience working with and influencing cross functional teams in a matrix organization.

Preferred:

  • CPA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

Special / Travel Requirements

  • Typically < 5% travel
