Job Description

Well-established sales territory with realistic income potential of 6 figures.

As a commission-only Advertising Account Executive, you will be responsible for selling advertising to and servicing local businesses.  You will be expected to develop new and grow existing accounts through in-person and telephone sales calls.  Our product portfolio includes a variety of multi-media advertising products such as ads in the print, online and mobile editions of our publications and other websites like Yahoo!, inserts, direct mail, email marketing, search engine marketing, and social media.

This role is critical to supporting the overall revenue objectives of our organization. Our Account Executives use a consultative sales approach to identify the marketing and advertising needs of their clients in order to make effective recommendations.   At the close of sale, this position requires you to complete detailed paperwork to fulfill orders that include placement of ads, the creative message, and reports to communicate campaign performance.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills

  • excellent communication and presentation skills

  • familiarity with computers including programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM systems

  • excellent closing and time management skills and be able to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

  • experience in media sales preferred but more importantly, we are looking for a proven track record of success in sales

  • college degree (preferred, although a high school diploma and 2-4 years of proven sales experience may be substituted for a degree

  • a valid driver’s license accompanied with a good driving record
