Financial Analyst – Junior

This analyst will be the junior member of our eight person financial planning and analysis team. This analyst will be responsible for our circulation department and will work closely with and support the Vice President of Circulation as well as other personnel in the circulation department. In addition to supporting the circulation departments this analyst will also be the primary analyst for custom publishing and weekly properties and will work with all of the people associated with those entities to provide them any support or analysis that they may need as well as participating in the weekly flash projection, month-end review, month-end variance reporting, budgeting, forecasting and any ad hoc reporting that may be necessary. This analyst will also participate in various company wide financial projects. This analyst’s time will mainly be divided between Anaheim and Monrovia and require occasional travel to the other SCNG offices / facilities.

Set up and maintain spreadsheets.
The person should have a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
Have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); and knowledge of budgeting and reporting tools (BPC and COGNOS); and have experience working on online accounting systems (JDE and MACTIVE)
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
