Job Description

Diamond Kinetics is seeking a Sports Tech UI/UX Designer with proven ability to create compelling customer experiences by mapping concepts from the physical world to the digital world.  

We are not looking for someone to simply copy existing patterns and styles. Instead, a successful candidate for this role should have a well-formed design philosophy and should be able to describe why certain design decisions should be made over alternatives.  

The person in this role should have the ability to capture and utilize data regarding customer behavior and usage patterns and translate that data into an informed design strategy.

Success in this role will be indicated by increased engagement, retention, and customer delight with DK products, apps, and services.  This role will report directly to and work closely with the Director of Product Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers

  • Collaborates with internal and external team members to identify innovative solutions and areas for product improvement throughout the design and development process.

  • Identify design problems and thoughtfully design solutions to improve the overall experience and aesthetic of DK products.

  • Create detailed low and high fidelity visual design mockups, wireframes, sketches, prototypes, and supporting design specifications and documentation.

  • Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer needs to align with business goals.

  • Collaborates with internal and external team members to identify innovative solutions and areas for product improvement throughout the design and development process.

  • Perform user research, data analysis, and user testing with customers translating insights and findings into tangible solutions for our product; Share and present findings from research.

  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features.

  • Develop brand standards for typography, color usage, and other visual elements

  • Maintain a design system, making recommendations for new patterns and standardized practices.

  • Ensure that the design elements meet the business goals of the product

  • Participate in strategy, ideation, and design of future product initiatives.

  • Present design concepts and strategy to both internal and external customers.

  • Stay up to date on current industry trends and market conditions.

Qualifications

  • Portfolio of proven work experience as a  Product Designer or similar role

  • Knowledge of software such as Sketch, XD, Figma OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer. Basic skills with HTML5, CSS3, Javascript for functional prototyping are a plus

  • A solid grasp of user-centered design, planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.

  • Ability to prototype, iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.

  • A passion for baseball or softball. Playing or coaching experience is a plus
