Job Description

The Marketing Coordinator position is designed to elevate the output and efficiency of Diamond Kinetics Marketing Department. This role provides an essential function at Diamond Kinetics, steering content workflow through the company while coordinating with other key departments, including Product, Development, Customer Service, Sales, and Partner Management. 

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing projects from inception through completion and must understand the scope, business objectives, content strategy, and editorial calendar needs driving each project. 

The Marketing Coordinator will have line-of-sight across Marketing, Commercial, and Product initiatives and will act in a key operational role to help spin up projects, assign resources, and get team members moving against a schedule. This role emphasizes execution, but will also require an understanding of the marketing strategy behind the tactics. 

The role is divided into two primary areas – DK-Driven-Marketing projects conceived and executed in channels controlled by us – and Partner Marketing projects that execute in the partner’s space. Delivery will cut across digital and real-world tactics. 

This position requires a self-motivated person with a problem-solving, can-do attitude who will take the initiative and work effectively with limited supervision. The Marketing Coordinator must be very organized and able to help the teams push multiple projects forward simultaneously. 

Qualifications

Manage Marketing Workflow (75% of Effort) 

Manage the workflow of the DK Marketing Department across all phases of content creation, production, and distribution. 

• Set timelines, coordinate internal team resources, and marshal external vendors to get projects done on-time and within budget. 

• Coordinate with the Director of Marketing and the full Marketing Team to help build marketing strategies and annual plans. 

• Coordinate with the Director of Marketing and the full Marketing Team to establish the editorial calendar. Then set due dates and run regular team meetings to facilitate asset delivery and review/approval processes. 

• Field marketing requests from the larger Commercial Team - assess the need, define the deliverables, set timelines, and manage those projects thru delivery. 

• Ensure team members understand their assignments and help them deal with inter- dependencies and overcome roadblocks. 

• Assemble and communicate digital marketing specs for ad-units and organic content so the team can build-out all requisite materials. 

• Manage DK’s email schedule to ensure smooth production, testing, delivery, reporting of email programs. 

• Oversee website updates and ad-hoc projects. 

• Oversee the production of real-world marketing components, include assets for events, conventions, POS, and print-collateral. Manage printing and manufacturing of physical marketing assets. 

• Coordinate with media buying resources, internal and external, to ensure paid media components are delivered on time, run according to spec, and tracked effectively in DK’s reporting systems. 

• Help facilitate DK’s photo and video shoots to ensure the team and vendors have everything they need. 

• Set timelines for regular reporting and facilitate systems & processes to streamline delivery.

Support Partner Marketing Efforts (25% of Effort with Spikes in Attention) 

• Work closely with Partner contacts to assess and define marketing projects – Be the liaison/gatekeeper of marketing projects between DK and our partners. 

• Work to understand the strategic differences, intricacies, and idiosyncrasies of each partner to maximize the value of DK’s marketing efforts with each. 

• Develop specifications and detailed timelines for Partner-Marketing projects, ensuring the DK and Partner teams understand their roles and responsibilities. 

• Integrate Partner-Marketing deliverables into the overall DK Marketing workflow. 

• Facilitate delivery of DK assets to the Partner. 

• Check with Partners on a regular basis to ensure execution in their digital channels and real-world formats is going according to plan. Seek to optimize efforts whenever possible. 

• Facilitate and continually improve reporting from Partner back into DK’s overall Marketing reporting infrastructure. 

Be Customer-Centric and Leverage Functional Expertise to Create Value (Ongoing) 

• Understand and apply knowledge about the sports of baseball and softball and the activity cycle of players and coaches throughout the year – stay current. 

• Understand Diamond Kinetics’ technology, products and services at a very deep level. 

• Understand internal and external customer requirements, expectations and needs. 

• Deliver on commitments and create value for all customers. 

• Stay informed about functional industry/practices and emerging technologies and approaches. 

Experience Required 

• BA or BS – Business/Communications/Marketing Preferred. 

• 2-4 years of consistent success in tech company or digital marketing agency. 

• Proven ability to assess a marketing need... and translate it into a strategic project that can be managed. 

• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and meet tight deadlines. 

• Experience with project management processes and tools. 

• High-level of knowledge digital campaign execution and coordination 

• Strong cognitive skills including problem solving, decision making and analysis 

• Experience managing budgets 

• Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours 

• Excellent organization skills. 

• Team player. 

Additional Desired Experience 

• Solid understanding of web development, app development principles. 

• An understanding of email and/or CRM systems. 

• Base-level knowledge of digital marketing tools such as Facebook Business Manager, Google Adwords, Google Tag Manager, and GA. 

• Start-up and/or early-stage company experience 

• Played competitive level amateur baseball or softball.

• Requires reliable transportation to and from place of work 

• Expect to work occasional evening and weekend hours. Potential for limited travel.
