Job Function and Purpose

The Business Development Coordinator supports customer acquisition, ensures customer success and assists in revenue generation by identifying, opening, activating and supporting business relationships with customers and regional partners.

Success in this role is defined by identifying and qualifying leads, building prospect relationships quickly, supporting Business Development Managers in securing new business and ensuring customer success after the sale. The role requires a skilled balance of “hunter” and “farmer”.

Key Responsibilities

Research, Prioritize and Engage Customer Prospect

  • Identify key decision makers and proactively engage to open a business dialogue with Business Development Manager
  • Vet and qualify in-bound customer leads, transferring to the appropriate Business Development Manager
  • Effectively utilize a broad range of technology to assist in engagement (phone, email, social, video, web meeting, webinars, etc.)
  • Engage potential and current customers face-to-face as appropriate in surrounding geographic area

Develop and Maintain Strong Relationships

  • Build relationships remotely with a wide range of customer prospects and influencers
  • Open “doors” effectively, efficiently and professionally
  • Establish high levels personal and company credibility 
  • Quickly convert relationships into qualified business engagements

Coordinate and Assist in Customer Conversion to Revenue

  • Conduct remote and in-person product demonstrations to educate and advance the business opportunity 
  • Train and on-board new customers and partners
  • Assist in partner event marketing by engaging end-users, educating and closing sales
  • Assist in the support and management of company interns within regional partnerships

Reporting and Analysis

  • Develop and distribute basic data reports and correlations in support of customers
  • Assist Business Development Manager in business analysis and reporting

Drive Customer Success

  • Monitor customer product usage highlighting and addressing gaps
  • Solicit customer feedback and insight to improve company products and services
  • Identify and provide value-added services to customers

Experience Required

  • B.A., B.S. or equivalent degree in Business, Sports Marketing, Exercise Science, Communications, or equivalent field of study
  • 1-3 years of consistent, inside and/or field-based sales and customer support success in an industry where the product/service is non-essential to the customer and requires a high level of education and support
  • Very technology savvy and a personal passion for it Highly proficient in MS Office and social media platforms Played competitive-level amateur baseball or softball

Additional Desired Experience

  • Experience coaching and training competitive-level baseball/softball players
  • Experience selling technology, ideally involving hardware and SAAS
  • Experience in field/event marketing
  • Start-up and/or early-stage company experience
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • MBA a plus
