Job Description
WHAT'S THE JOB?
Summary: Reporting to the Director, Fleet & Warehouse, the QA Manager is responsible for working with multiple departments in coordinating the activities needed to ensure that processes are in compliance with established procedures and parameters. Part of the role is to identify opportunities to improve the process and provide recommendations and resolutions to put the process in conformance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The QA Manager performs some or all of the following duties:
- Develop, create, and improve procedures within the Quality Department nationally within RHS operations.
- Conduct and oversee Internal quality audit in reference to ISO190011.
- Guide and mentor quality coordinators daily
- Guide managers on cost effective measures on non-conformance issues to reduce financial impact to projects
- This role will be a nationwide support role for Asset Based Services supporting Remote Hospitality operations.
- Conduct Data analysis and provide recommendations based on analysis.
- Monitor calibration process and make sure that all equipment available for use are calibrated based on ISO17025.
- Monitor, review, and develop inspection & test plans.
- Conduct Process Audit in reference to established Procedure’s and Inspection & Test Plan’s.
- Monitor departmental Quality Index.
- Lead & Coordinate Root Cause analysis of quality events.
- Ensure that all Major & Critical NCRs are closed and rectified, including verification of the Corrective Action’s efficiency.
- Standardize repair practices across shop & yard locations.
- Verify that completed repairs meet company and regulatory requirements.
- Keep track and report quality trends to management.
- Champion the Quality software platform FTQ 360.
- Maintain compliance with the company’s CSA A277 certification program.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Post-secondary education from an accredited university or college with a degree or diploma in Engineering, Environment, Quality or Safety, or certified Trade certificate relevant to Construction.
- Five to seven years of experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Candidate must demonstrate leadership qualities.
- Previous experience in wood-frame construction in either the commercial/industrial, factory building, modular or residential housing sectors is an asset.
- Practical experience or knowledge of relevant trade areas (Cabinetry, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing) is an asset.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Familiar with the use of National Code Books and Industry Quality Control Standards.
- Successful completion of Quality education leading to an advanced Quality designation (e.g. ASQ-CQE, ISO Auditor, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO17025 or calibration system
- Solid proficiency in MS Office programs; and
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be flexible to travel.

Working Conditions
- Shop floor/Office environment with a flexible work schedule, potentially requiring work in the evenings and weekends. Trained, as necessary, in required safety protocols.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required at all sites.
- All travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
