Job Description
The Journeyman Electrician performs electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work at CMI’s customer site located in Kearneysville, WV.
Key Job Functions
- Receives assignments verbally and by work order and will determine the safest best methods to accomplish assignments.
- Responsible for electrical preventive maintenance
- Testing and repair of the electrical systems
- Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment;
- Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Minimum of 4 years (within the past 7 years) of providing electrical repair services preferably within a federal facility
- Must hold a current journeyman commercial/industrial license issued by WV or other accredited board such as the National Electrical Testing Association (NETA)
- Experience in the field of inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, operating and performing preventive maintenance on complex electrical power distribution systems and be familiar with the operations of complex RUPS/SUPS and associated generators and paralleling switchgear.
- Must be able to pass government background check
