Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

As a member of the HR Service Centre, the HR Coordinator is responsible for providing transactional and administrative support for employee information changes over the employment life cycle and for delivery of internal human resource services ensuring employee data records are accurate, complete, and kept up to date within our HRIS system.  The ideal candidate will have expertise in customer service, with a passion for helping others, providing guidance and support on HR processes and policies while demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in data entry and accuracy. This role requires excellent data entry skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, as well as the ability to work well under timelines.

This is a 12 month maternity leave contract position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring HR administration functions and queries are delivered as per appropriate standards and in a courteous manner
  • Timely processing of HR transactions ensuring payroll is processed on time
  • Processing new hires, terminations, employment changes etc. for all employees in the system
  • Interacting with internal clients or employees around specific work efforts and deliverables
  • Overseeing the HRIS - processing, verifying, and maintaining employee data
  • Assisting HR Business partners and HR leads in preparing required letters and on special HR projects as assigned
  • Processing benefit enrollment, terminations, and updating benefit coverage based on life changing events with our benefit carrier’s online platform.
  • Maintaining benefit records and administers group benefit plans as per benefit eligibility
  • Responding to benefit queries and other HR related queries
  • Staying well informed of the human resources policies, procedures, and delegation of authority
  • Ensuring documents are e-filed timely within HRIS
  • Assisting with translation of communication and supporting process documents to French

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • A University or College degree with a specialization in Human Resources Management
  • CHRP designation or working toward designation would be an asset
  • 1-3 years’ experience in human resources supporting employee life cycle operations
  • Experience in non-union and unionized environments
  • Experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Intermediate level expertise with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
