Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?
NOTE - Position is shift work at various remote sites 

Reporting directly to the Fleet Dispatcher, this position ensures that the Camps and fleet equipment is highly maintained for function and aesthetics. While the position is based in Grande Prairie, Alberta; the majority of time will be spent on various projects in remote regions of Northern Alberta and British Columbia

  • Understand all safety procedures of work place. 
  • Maintain HNCC camp equipment to the highest possible condition
  • Liaise with the Fleet Dispatcher in Grande Prairie to keep up to all maintenance issues and to maintain all certifications as required, (range suppression certification, fire alarm inspection and certification, fire extinguisher certification) and complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Installation/repairing/replacing of fixtures and appliances once the rough in is completed, including showers, toilets, urinals, sinks, hot water tanks, kitchen equipment, washer/dryers, dishwashers, furnaces, and air conditioning units. 
  • Use forklift, floor jack or dolly to move larger fixtures and appliances into buildings. 
  • Daily usage of torches, crimpers, drills, hand tools (ie. Screw drivers, wrenches and hammers), pipe bender, manometer, threading machine, die heads, grinders, metal snips and shears. 
  • Use of glues for sealing and installation of appliances (ie. ABS, PVC glue, pipe dope, flux and paint). 
  • Load and unload materials, and move materials to work areas.
  • Responsible for “curb appeal” of our facility including highway signage.
  • Cleanliness and housekeeping of all areas inside and outside the camp.
  • Ensure all camp equipment is in good repair.
  • Cleans and stores tools and equipment and cleans work sites. 
  • Effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines
  • Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems on site.
  • Complying with all of HNCC safety policies & procedures
  • Wears required Personal Protective Equipment at all times during work hours. 
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein. 

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Valid drivers License.
  • Work requires an education background normally equivalent to high school and a Journeyman Certificate - such as Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC or Carpentry.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry and company codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to trade.
  • Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management and decision-making skills.
  • Able to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work individually and as a team member.
  • Able to safely and comfortably carry out physical duties. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Attention to health/safety of self and co-workers.
