Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?
As a Quality Control/Assurance Control Coordinator, reporting to the Account Director, you will ensure the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program is maintained and followed throughout operations. This position may require travel up to 50% of the time to various DND operations and construction sites.

Your work will include:

  • Support the Operations Manager/Site Supervisor to plan, control and supervise all maintenance work and operation of all activities at CFB Borden.
  • To lead process improvement projects, including but not limited to kaizen and continuous improvement projects such as CMMS utilization and database management
  • Ensure that contractually agreed quality, audit, compliance obligations are met within the contract and delivered to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Ensure quality work is being performed safely by staff and contractors
  • Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, supplies, utilities, and equipment in a cost-effective manner
  • Coordinate external contractors work for a variety of repairs and maintenance projects
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining technical information, regulatory compliance records, licensing and certifications to meet all federal, provincial and municipal building codes.
  • Assists managing the maintenance management software (CMMS)
  • Ensures that proper level of spare parts is available to minimize the down time or unavailability of space and/or equipment
  • Provides procedural directions and problem-solving guidance to staff
  • Provides verbal and written reports as requested
  • Plan to foresee problems, arrange work, and procure materials well enough in advance to avoid schedule delays and rush orders
  • Regularly monitor, report and communicate project progress
  • Review quality/safety procedures to ensure that there is adequate control of the quality/safety elements and facilitate as necessary to progress and close out any issues
  • Create/Develop the supporting Quality/ Safety Toolkit for the contract, including assessment of areas of common failure to initiate and implement preventative and corrective action.
  • Provide advice on training requirements/availability to assist knowledge improvement with contract team.
  • Give timely and accurate information about relevant quality/safety, audit, and compliance related risks and issues and escalate when appropriate

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Practical experience in an office environment with a strong knowledge of operating systems like Excel.
  • Previous experience in a QA/QC role would be an asset.
  • Possess and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Comprehensive experience reading specifications, drawings, and other associated project documentation.
  • Able to assist in the coordination and maintenance of an applied program for Quality Control.
  • Public Works and Government Services Canada, clearance will be required. I clean criminal record would be needed in order for applicant to obtain the clearance.
