WHAT’S THE JOB?
Join our Healthcare Support Services Leadership team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move patient care to the next level.

As the Project Manager - Building Renovation & Lifecycle, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will provide direction for building maintenance projects and take responsibility for overall project performance including cost, schedule, quality and project status. You will be responsible for delivering operational improvement initiatives and managing all aspects of projects initiated by the Senior Operations Manager or the Account General Manager, including the initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and closing phases. You will also deal with subcontractor negotiations, liaising with multifaceted teams, as well as management of operational and financial aspects of deliverables. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within established budgets and in compliance with the requirements of the stakeholders, project management best practices, company policies and procedures and legislation and labor requirements.

Your work will include, but not limited to: 

  • Developing and monitoring the project schedule and budget and establishing construction plans and engineering methods
  • Handling all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts;
  • Identifying project risks, problems and issues as early as possible; ensuring mitigating actions are in place to minimize impact; and ensure project profitability
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, professional manner and on an ongoing basis;
  • Working with project stakeholders to develop a scope of work for projects including but not limited to the completion of Annul Protocols, Training & Development programs, establishment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all departments
  • Identifying and developing project risks, problems and issues as early as possible; ensuring mitigating actions are in place to minimize impact in conjunction with the appropriate department manager;
  • Develop and Support the implementation of Departmental Strategic initiatives for each department – developed in conjunction with the department managers  
  • Assist the General Manager with sourcing and bid submission for potential new business within the Northwest Territories
  • Perform a quarterly documentation audit for all departments, implement corrective actions to ensure compliance
  • Contract management for all operational service providers ensure upcoming renewals, document library, sourcing of alternative providers are managed (Non-FM contracts).

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects
  • 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • 1+ years of previous experience with gathering requirements from the client / business and documentation
  • 3+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior Leadership  
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • PMP certification is considered an asset;
  • Experience working with various levels of government
