WHAT’S THE JOB?
Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.

As a Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Manager of Projects, you will provide overall management and direction for several projects and successfully take responsibility for overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality, project status and clients’ satisfaction. You will oversee other project team members; project managers, project coordinators, superintendents, project engineers, quality control inspectors, while maintaining relationships with sub-trades and clients. The position involves subcontractor negotiations, liaising with owners, architects, engineers, and sub-trades as well as management of changes, technical and financial aspects of contracts.  You will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the Contract requirements, Company Policies and Procedures, and legislation and labour requirements.

Your work will include:

  • Manage all aspects of a diverse team of project staff including project managers, project coordinators and project admin.
  • Establish performance standards for projects, project managers and project coordinators.
  • Review work product of teams for compliance with organizational objectives and goals.
  • Ensure goals are met in customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team performance.
  • Implement and manage change and intervention to ensure project goals are achieved, including handling emergencies, disruptions and unanticipated events.
  • Regularly report work progress, status, goals, updates and issues to stakeholders and governing bodies.
  • Subcontractor negotiations and communication with owners, engineers, and sub-trades.
  • Review policies, processes and project reporting with respect to continuous improvement and standardization.
  • Implement use of standard project management key performance indicators such as SPI, CPI, and Earned Value

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor or preferably Master’s degree in project management, construction management, architecture, engineering, or in any related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 10 years’ project management experience in design, construction and installations on Single and Multi-family Residential, Commercial and industrial;
  • Proven experience managing medium to large projects;
  • Experience working with various levels of government;
  • Contract law knowledge and contract management experience;
  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Scheduling Software: MS Project and/or Primavera;
  • Experience working with Aconex will be an asset;
  • Prior experience with Modular construction (including infrastructure) considered an asset;
  • Prior experiences in affordable/social housing and residential projects considered an asset;
  • Experience with wood frame construction will be an asset.
