Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?
Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.

As an Inventory Control Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily material transactions. This includes tracking, storage, and inputting of raw materials into and out of NRB’s Inventory. 

You will also assist with organizing and maintaining material storage methods throughout the property to ensure materials are promptly returned to central storage areas for future use and to minimize waste. You will create accurate allocation reports that reflect what the projects require and communicate any changes made to material lists.

Your work will include:

  • Measuring, stabilizing and improving the effectiveness of inventory and bill of materials
  • Assisting in organization and maintenance of storage areas and inventory
  • Analyzing the accuracy of purchase orders, Bills of Materials and inventory transactions
  • Determining at which stage in construction materials are installed and ensuring all raw materials are recorded
  • Communicating potential inventory issues to Warehouse Supervisor and Purchasing to avoid material shortages
  • Responsible for organizing and leading monthly inventory cycle counts then following up with inventory balance discrepancy analysis
  • Look for effective ways to improve day to day operational objectives and efficiency
  • Assisting in coordinating planned material transactions with other departments
  • Documenting and preparing reports for material additions and returns for each NRB job
  • Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Inventory Control Clerk will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels for predetermined items to ensure the continuous flow of raw materials and key products

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Proven work experience as a material handler/inventory
  • Highly effective analytical skills and techniques.
  •  Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
  • Hands-On commitment to getting the job done efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management and decision-making skills.
  • Managing a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Construction material knowledge is recommended; 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing workplace setting would be an asset
  • Proficient in MS office, Smartsheet/ Jonas knowledge would be considered an asset
  • Successful completion of a business diploma/ degree/ certificate or equivalent from an accredited university or college is an asset
  • Flexible work schedule, potentially requiring occasional work on evenings and weekends.
