Job Description

The Food Services Manager oversees the provision of services at a client owned site, ensuring customer satisfaction, contract compliance, safety, quality, and excellence in service. Reporting to the District Manager, Food Service Managers operate the account and are the first point of contact for clients and staff.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruiting, hiring, and scheduling of staff
  • Day-to-day management of menu planning, meal production, back of house, and front of house services
  • Manage floor supervisors, dining room supervisors, and support staff
  • Leadership and team building within the account
  • Food procurement including budgeting and expense management
  • Ensuring food services meet contractual and regulatory authority requirements and compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and practices

Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years experience as a manager of an institutional or commercial kitchen within the last 5 years
  • Must possess a minimum of 1 work experience involving the serving of at least 500 dinners, 3 meals per day, for 6 weeks or more consecutively
  • Must hold a valid BC recognized food safety certificate
  • Must hold a Valid BC drivers licence
  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance at the Enhanced Reliability Status level (requires a 10 year background check and Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency)
  • Training, instructing, teaching, and mentoring skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and windows-based computer systems
