Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB ?

Reporting to the Facility General Manager, as the Plant and Operations Manager you will be responsible for the management and leadership of all maintenance operations, development, and direction of the team to drive the growth and revenue, technical productivity, and quality assurance and to promote a high level of customer satisfaction, in accordance with company beliefs, policies, procedures, objectives and applicable legislation. You will also include the assurance of accurate parts control, sourcing, and costing, as well as the management of staff, resources, and inventories for the department. Upon the absence of the General Manager, you will provide support and coverage to the on-site team and engage with the client as required.

Some of your responsibilities and this state-of-the art facility will include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for creating or improving maintenance processes and procedures.
  • General oversight of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team and expert opinion to the client as required.
  • Ensure that all compliance procedures are in place and all safety procedures are followed.
  • Provide planning and forecasting for the for the department’s objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the daily maintenance operations
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, and talent management of technical staff
  • Responsible for the completion and retention of documents and reports including but not limited to the following: preventive maintenance, daily maintenance, technical, financial, procedural, maintenance agreements, and department metrics.
  • Establish the overall vision and direction for the implementation of the maintenance operations.
  • Monitor financial performance to ensure the department is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment.
  • Analyze and report on the daily, monthly, and annually department's key performance indicators and industry trends.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?

  • You have a post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering, business administration, technical field, or similar area of study.
  • 5 years of maintenance management experience with proven leadership abilities.
  • Effective leadership with a strong focus on strategic objectives and business processes.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Sound analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, decision making and execution skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively manage time and adapt to work in a fast-paced environment and manage projects with conflicting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven skills in customer service, project management leadership, supervision, and administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with others.
