Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?
Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.

As a Project Coordinator, reporting to the Director, Projects, you will assist in the overall technical planning of a project to ensure that the project is constructed in a timely, cost-effective manner in accordance with the contract and the appropriate design and construction standards. The Project Coordinator will conduct detailed plan and specification reviews, coordinate permitting requirements, coordinate site inspections during construction and monitor the work of inspectors, architects, other consultants and subcontractors where applicable.

Your work will include:

  • Coordinate with the design department, consultants and the authority having jurisdiction through permitting processes from inception to permit close out; including Official Community Plan amendments, re-zoning applications, development permits, building permits, trade permits and permit amendments.
  • Scheduling work for site construction including follow up with the service providers throughout the planning process to ensure the required service is in place by the scheduled need date.
  • Complete production specification and drawing/plan reviews to ensure compliance with the contract and the relevant design and construction standards.
  • Participate in kickoff meetings and coordinate handover documents with internal stakeholders throughout the various project phases.
  • Manage project execution process through project management software.
  • Prepare project execution plans and coordinate inputs from internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage risk management plans including the management of project specific risk registers.
  • Coordinate procurement of construction subcontractors or materials with Supply Chain ensuring timely delivery and accuracy in accordance with the terms of the contract. Review subcontractor quotes and provide recommendation to Project Manager and Supply Chain.
  • Support the Project Administrator with pre-construction activities such as acquiring bonding, insurance, business licenses and module laydowns.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • A construction specific technical diploma/degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience is preferred. 
  • A minimum of 2 years construction-related work experience is ideal. Modular construction experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Strong computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiar with contracts and contract law.
