Job Description

The Senior Designer Pre-Construction performs some or all of the following duties:

  • Supporting RFQ/RFP/Pricing Request responses including preparing deliverables such as concept and schematic design, execution plans
  • Reviewing IC budgets, drawings and other content as required to support Sales Reps in pursuit of opportunities
  • Support sales with presenting and discussing projects and providing initial technical feedback on client provided content
  • Work within the project team to ensure all design scope and end user requirements are captured and reflected in the design drawings.
  • Monitor and control design progress and ensure requirements are met and completed according to established timelines within the design team and with  external consultants.
  • Develop and prepare conventional computer-assisted designs and specifications.
  • Develop and create detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance and input to the sales team for new proposals, RFPs and contracts.
  • Prepare proposal specifications and presentation documents in accordance with client and/or project requirements.
  • Review contract summaries with the ability to offer input into the creation of actionable design scope and working schedules.
  • Collaborate with Architectural and Engineering partners to complete designs and resolve challenges.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and field personnel.
  • Work with purchasing/vendors to source, review and specify material and equipment required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education from an accredited institution, specializing in Architecture or Engineering.
  • 10+ years experience with building design relating to commercial/industrial/hospitality/ residential sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Revit/AutoCAD proficiency required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and create building specifications and detialed construction drawings.
