WHAT’S THE JOB?
Based in a world class Horizon North camp facility, unionized environment, The regular shift for this position is 21 days on and 7 days off, with 10-hour workdays.  Fly-in Fly-out transportation from Calgary/ Edmonton.  

As a Baker's Helper, reporting to the Baker and the Chef, you will delight our clients by preparing and baking goods to the highest standards of Horizon North.

This position is safety sensitive and requires drug, alcohol testing as a condition of employment. 

Wage: $21.54/hour
Rotation: 21/7
Transportation: Charter Flight

This unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Interested parties MUST have or willing to complete CSTS-2020 and CSO Training

Your work will include:

• Assist the Baker in preparing and baking goods from scratch
• Following recipes/ menu and/or product directions in preparing the products
• Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods
• Ensure quality of baked goods and desserts meets the standards of Horizon North
• Ensuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
• Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
• Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas
• Other duties as required

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• FoodSafe Level I is a minimum. SafeCheck advanced food safety certification or HACCP certification is an asset.
• Minimum 1 years’ baking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment
• Proven experience preparing baked goods for large number of guests
• You have experience working in an unionized environment is an asset
• Ability to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 35 pounds
• You have a valid CSTS-2020 and CSO
