Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?
Join our a Horizon North team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move business forward.

As a Labourer, reporting to the Lead Service Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of job duties pertianing to relocatable office structures.  In this role, you will work 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.  You will report to our yard that is located in the County of Westlock, AB.  Some travel maybe required throughout Western Canada. 

This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment.

Your work will include:

  • Use hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Mark, record and report defects.
  • Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
  • Identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
  • Clean and perform preparation of yard, shop, and work-site.
  • Lift and carry furniture and appliances from relocatable office structures. 
  • Provide general help to all trades.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Education background equivalent to high school is required.
  • Knowledge of the construction/manufacturing industry is considered an asset.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred.
  • Perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Requires manual dexterity of both hands and feet to perform activities such as lifting overhead, twisting and bending while lifting, climbing ladders and stairs while wearing protective equipment, and working in confined spaces, including repetitive arm motion below, at, and above shoulder level.
  • Walks approximately 2-4 kilometers per day on a variety of surfaces including, concrete and gravel.
