Dexterra is currently seeking a Janitorial Team Supervisor.

If successful, you will be client facing and responsible for the successful execution of the scope of project as well as delivering on key deliverables for our company, including managing profit and loss, human resources, operational excellence and the health and safety of our employees.

Job Description

Make an Impact 
The Supervisor Janitorial Team, will supervise and coordinate all Industrial Janitors and Floor Professionals, and will be responsible for creating and maintaining the cleanliness of our site facilities to the highest level. 

This position is safety sensitive and requires the applicant to pass and obtain Government Reliability Status as a condition of employment. 

What you’ll do

  • Meet daily with Manager to discuss any duties or requirements pertaining to work area;
  • This is a working position and requires a minimum of 50% of your time spent completing site janitorial tasks daily;
  • Provide supervision, guidance and support to all Team Members;
  • Provide subordinates with positive leadership and set an example of expected requirements;
  • Meet daily with all Team Members to improve team communication;
  • Complete inventory and order supplies to budget parameters;
  • Ensure that all duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Assist Manager with all paperwork required for reporting purposes which may include time sheets, worker incident and accident reports;
  • Complete Quality checks;
  • Observe and report any needed repairs or damages in work area to Manager;
  • Comply with all WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) standards;
  • Complete any other duties as assigned by General Manager, or other Managers.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment where good physical and mental health is required.
  • Ability to bend, turn, stoop, stand, reach high and low, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for 3 to 8 hours per shift.
  • Perform repetitive manual tasks on a daily basis
  • Walking large areas of floor space
  • Able to maneuver large machinery successfully
  • IPAC training an asset
