Job Description

Based in a world class camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 2 weeks on and 1 week off, with 10-hour workdays. Flights covered from Calgary or Edmonton only!

Make an Impact 

The Manager, Janitorial Operations, provides daily field support to our cleaning teams. Support provided includes training, working with clients, inspections of team's performance and compliance within our usual high standards, assistance with troubleshooting customer requests/complaints, and coordinating site visits of accounts.

This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. 

What you’ll do

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to all Janitorial employees
  • Ensure Horizon North standards pertaining to labor costs, quality, consistency, cleanliness, and safe work practices are maintained and upheld daily
  • Determine staffing requirement based on project requirements and organize staff change and rotation
  • Leverage relationships and resources with area lodges and corporate offices
  • Liaise and obtain feedback from clients daily
  • Delegate duties and supervision through workplace inspections
  • Ensure employees comply with safe work procedures and support the HSE program
  • Implement company programs and manage operations of the division in a manner consistent with federal, provincial, local laws and regulations, and Horizon North policies
  • Identify areas of improvement on the overall operation as necessary
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to policies and services and resolve complaints
  • Monitor project revenue, expense management, and project profitability.
  • Assign duties to workers, schedule shifts, hire and train staff members and monitor performance to ensure efficient operations
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Purchase supplies, and arrange for outside services, e.g. deliveries, laundry, maintenance, trash collection
  • Meet with clients, identify new service opportunities to increase revenue
  • Other duties as required

   

 

Qualifications

Who you are

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Hospitality or Business Administration
  • A minimum of 3 years Sales/Customer Service
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in Hospitality or commercial cleaning
  • A minimum of 6 years supervisory experience
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Property Management Software
  • Expert knowledge of the principles and practices within the hospitality profession
  • Experiential knowledge of people management and conflict resolution
  • Successful candidate MUST obtain a 80% make or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
