Based in our world class Parsnip camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 20 days on and 10 days off, with 11-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to site from pickup points in Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Fort Saint John, Prince George, Dawson Creek, Terrace, Prince Rupert, Grande Prairie, and Saskatoon.

The Head Housekeeper supervises and coordinates all Housekeepers and Janitors and responsible for creating and maintaining the cleanliness of our facilities to the highest level.

This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. 

What you’ll do

• Meet daily with Manager to discuss any duties or requirements pertaining to work area;
• Provide supervision, guidance and support to all Housekeepers and Janitors;
• Provide subordinates with positive leadership and set an example of expected requirements;
• Meet daily with all Housekeepers and Janitors to improve team communication;
• Schedule all Janitorial and Housekeeping staff within budget parameters;
• Complete inventory and order supplies to budget parameters;
• Ensure that Camp Attendant and Janitor duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner;
• Assist Camp Manager with all paperwork required for reporting purposes which may include time sheets, worker incident and accident reports;
• Assist with the shut-down of each facility when required which may include, but is not limited to inventory reports and overall cleaning duties;
• Observe and report any needed repairs or damages in work area to Manager;
• Comply with all WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and Food Safe standards;
• Complete any other duties as assigned by Lodge Manager, Accommodations Manager, or other Managers.

• You have five (5) or more years’ experience in housekeeping or a related field of work, preferably within the camps and catering environment
• You have five (5) or more years’ experience in a senior housekeeping role
• You have previous senior housekeeping experience in a 500+ room facility is required
• Ideally, you have experience with Camp Logistics
• You possess good communication, interpersonal and organization skills
• You possess excellent customer service skills;
• You work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision;
• You should be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned;
• You are fluent and literate in the English language;
• You have WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification
• You have a First Aid certification
• Ideally, you have HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), Basic and Advanced Food Safe training - job or site specific
• You must possess a strong knowledge of Camp attendant and Janitor duties.
