Job Description

Reporting to the Chef, we are looking for dynamic and confident cook to join our catering team at a camp located in Marathon, ON. 

The ideal candidate is an experienced Second Cook with camp or banquet experience that can help produce an amazing dining experience for 100 people.

We are looking for someone with the ability to lead by example, following Outland's quality assurance program, setting and achieving goals, and consistently raising the bar.

This is a long-term position with the potential to grow within the company. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepping food for all meal services
  • Making soups, sandwiches, salads, dips, and sauces from scratch
  • Cooking food at interactive stations for guests when required
  • Other duties as assigned by Chef 

Physical Demands:

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. 
  • Climb ladders or stairs.
  • Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time.
  • Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.
  • Work with arms above shoulder height.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years kitchen experience
  • 1 – 3 years as a Second Cook
  • Remote camp experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid Advanced Food Safety certificate.
  • First Aid certification considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Office365, SharePoint, Excel, etc.) considered an asset
  • Must have an acceptable Criminal Records Check.

Additional Information

Work Schedule and Remuneration:

The successful candidate will be required to work a schedule of 14 days, 14 days off. Travel to and from Marathon, ON is the responsibility of the candidate. Local candidates are encouraged to apply and schedule can be altered to meet these requirements. Wages will be discussed during the interview phases. Wages are competitive and paid on an hourly basis.
