Job Description

We are actively looking for an experienced millwright who will report to the shift supervisor/Plant Manager

YOU ARE GREAT AT:

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Undertake and record in log books and computerized work order system the routine plant inspection of Boilers, Chillers, Compressors, Sprinkler systems & emergency lighting.
• Good understanding of the building operations including but not limited to BAS, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, Welding T.I.G. and soldering ,life safety, etc. and ensure all equipment and systems are operated in a safe and efficient manner and are in compliance with all applicable government codes & regulations
• Perform routine inspection of solar heating and free cooling heat exchangers
• Comply with company policies and procedures at all times and ensure building standards and efficiencies are maintained;
• Conduct inspections and complete repairs as necessary on, all site mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems and related equipment including but not limited to water treatment, boilers, heat pumps, roof top units, air conditioners, etc., on daily/weekly basis and complete appropriate record logs in order to ensure equipment is maintained in good working order;
• Perform electrical repairs to existing installations at up to 347 – 600 VAC – including changing ballasts, light switches, light fixtures & receptacles.
• Respond to emergencies such as water leaks, and electrical failures as required
• Perform routine fire alarm system inspection as required
• Perform diesel generator tests
• Assist 3rd party sub-contractors with maintenance related repairs
• Perform routine maintenance to pumps, motors, and other related equipment
• Maintain washroom fixtures including damaged units
• Change equipment filters on a regular basis
• Keep all work areas tidy and organized
• Test and record all chemical treatment programs
• Maintain and repair facilities systems including: domestic hot and cold water, sanitary, and irrigation systems
• Perform routine test and inspection of all safety equipment as required
• ensure inventory is stocked and readily available
• Complete all work in a safe, sufficient manner

Qualifications

Millwright Red Seal Certification and 2-5 years of related experience in a similar position
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Solid understanding of Boilers & HVAC equipment and systems
• Good understanding of Health and Safety Procedure
• Must be able to fluently speak and write English
• Available for shift work, weekends and holiday
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read Electrical (including Controls) blueprints
• Familiar with MS word, excel and database

Additional Information

Must pass security and retain full security clearance (full background and criminal checks)
• Must attain and retail airside Drivers Authority at all times
• Must attain and retain licensing for use of various Mobile elevating work Platforms (MEWPS) at all times
• Full clean driver’s license
