The Devex Partnerships team is an integral part of the Devex news function.  Through content sponsored by or created with input from our partners - leading NGOs, foundations, corporations, aid agencies and more - we help our audience better understand and advance key development issues.  We do this through events, content series, visual stories, surveys and much more.  Our Project Managers are the link between those partners and the rest of the Devex team.  In short, when a partnership needs to happen, our Project Managers get the call.   

Job Description

What kind of impact will you make? As a Project Manager, you’ll work with a Project Managers team to deliver on partnerships from start to finish.  Everything from kick-off to conclusion - including creating project scopes, managing budgets, coordinating and managing internal and external resources, delivering the metrics that matter and ensuring both audience and partner success. 

In your first 90 days you'll:

  • Receive onboarding - meet key Partnerships Team and broader News Division staff, including editorial, partnership development, creative and production teams

  • Get familiar on Devex business lines and internal procedures

  • Be assigned some projects and clients to start leading

By the time you finish your first year you'll have:

  • Actively participated in the management of some of our projects and partners

  • Integrated within the team as an important project management resource

  • Engaged with some of our Partners as one of the points of contact and trusted advisors

  • Been fully acquainted with the Devex Project Management business lines, processes and guidelines

  • Led the coordination of internal and external resources and participated in effective problem solving and creative thinking

  • Collaborated with the Editorial and Creative Teams to ensure our projects' content, brand and logistics are integrated seamlessly throughout 

  • Maintained high satisfaction for the audience, partner, and internal stakeholders


Required Qualifications

Here are the basic requirements we're looking for in the role… 

  • 3-5 years of project and client management in a communications or media environment

  • Proven excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills along with attention to detail

  • Knowledge of project management tools (like, Trello, etc) and Microsoft software 

  • Direct client and accounts management experience

  • Good understanding of key global development issues

  • Excellent collaboration skills.


Besides the basics, here’s what we’d love to see…

  • Have worked at a media platform

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Strong understanding of data and metrics, not only how to gather the data but also analyze it

  • Marketing (email / advertising / social media) or design experience

  • Editorial skillset

  • Familiarity with, Google Analytics or Marketo

  • Experience working with remote teams across cultures and time zones

  • Portfolio of successful projects, events and digital campaigns

  • Experience in global development sector
