Job Description
We are the "rebels" of the networks and, together with the large IT clusters Rebell and Plural, are responsible for Deutsche Telekom's network management.
On this basis, individual market (L2BSA, DCIP, IP Transit, etc.) and mass market products (5G expansion, FTTH, FTTC, etc.) are produced.
As an Experienced Test Automation Engineer your tasks will be:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated API test suites for DiCO and PlanDok microservices
- Perform system-level and end-to-end testing across multiple integrated services
- Validate data consistency, workflows, and business rules across interfaces
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and reliable releases
- Define and continuously improve test strategies, test coverage, and quality gates
- Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work closely with development teams to resolve defects
- Support release readiness decisions based on quality metrics and risk assessment
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and standards
Qualifications
- Strong experience in test automation for RESTful APIs (e.g. Rest Assured, Bruno/Hoppscotch/Postman, Karate, or similar)
- Solid understanding of microservice architectures and distributed systems
- Experience with system, integration, and end-to-end testing in complex IT landscapes
- Ability to validate JSON payloads, data models, and API contracts (e.g. JSON Path, OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and test integration into pipelines
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with test reporting and quality metrics (e.g. Allure, dashboards, KPIs)
- Knowledge of test data management and environment handling
- Basic experience with UI / GUI test automation (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium) is a plus
- Working knowledge of Java and JavaScript, especially for UI test automation and test tooling
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand complex business and technical flows
- Fluent English; German is an advantage but not mandatory
