Job Description

The Software Engineering Process Manager ensures continuous improvement of the SE process standards. The SE Process Manager ensures that Digital team learns from best practices and brings them into daily Software development project routine. This includes new market trends and technologies, like e.g. artificial intelligence, improvements with strategic programs and observations/recommendations out of the organization. He/she closely cooperates with business stakeholders and SE relevant communities.
The SE process management tasks include the end-to-end proceeding of new requirements/demands in terms of tools (e.g. DevOpsaaS-toolchain) and support services (e.g. Strive) from registration to implementation together with the experts in Delivery Excellence. 

The list of tasks related to the Software Engineering process include:

  • Requirement management and tracking
  • Identification and clarification of new process demands and requirements
  • Evaluation against standards in place and determination of gaps
  • Change planning and implementation of changes/improvements to standards
  • Release, deployment and rollout of new versions
  • KPI based measurement and analysis
  • Support of deals, projects and quality management regarding application of standards
     

Qualifications

The Software Engineering Process Manager shapes the SE process based on in his/her long experience from different roles in software development projects or application services.
He/she is familiar with different programming languages, development approaches and development tools as well as software engineering concepts, principles, and standards starting from entire life-cycle models like e.g. V-Model XT, Spice, DevOps, etc. down to norms for specific aspects like quality management, testing, requirements engineering, etc. He/she is able to design new process standards, align with stakeholders and enable project teams

  • At least 5 years of experience in software development projects e.g. as requirement analyst, developer, tester, architect or project/quality manager
  • Knowledge of project models like V model, agile approaches (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, ...) and DevOps
  • Experience with different standards and maturity models, e.g., CMMI, A-SPICE, various international software engineering standards (e.g., IEEE, ISO, etc.), and process metrics
  • Extensive experience with tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, CI pipelines with Jenkins, Test tool like XRAY, QC, UFT) and frameworks supporting the software engineering process
  • Motivation to learn about new aspects of software engineering and apply them in our standards
  •  These aspects might concern anything like e.g., technologies, application domains, development approaches, etc.
  • Ability as Process Manager to model, plan and implement process changes
  • Ability and motivation to work with an internal, virtual project team and in an agile approach
  • Strong communication skills when it comes to align changes, this includes ability to visualize e.g. supported by Powerpoint
  • Language skills in English - fluent in spoken and written, German language skills optional
