Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Primary point of contact for ALL desktop, network & server needs.
- Automating client processes , dealing with patch approval for deployment, other automated software pushes etc.
- Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired.
- Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provide timely escalation.
- Supporting process improvements.
- Ensure 99.9% uptime of critical, customer-equipment.
- Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues.
- Work with external vendors/consultants to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution.
- Monitoring, maintaining, and managing server and network equipment on a regular schedule.
- Customer end-user support (new hire setup, software installation & troubleshooting).
- Handle escalated tickets and provide resolution.
- Must be willing to take ownership of the issue analysis and resolution efforts and commit to "doing what it takes" to resolve technical issues regardless of the effort or timeframe required. Triaging as necessary for production, QA & development environments.
- Mentor Service Desk and other team members though leadership and setting positive examples.
- Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a multi-server environment is required with knowledge of clustering technologies and strategies.
- Graduate from a recognized University is preferred.
- Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions and work them through resolution.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in an ultra fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team in planning, configuration and implementation of complex systems.
- Ability to meet deadlines and be held accountable.
- Be a person of good character: Honest, reliable, professional.
- Work 40-50 hours weekly separate of breaks.
- Understanding of or experience with backup software and recovery strategies.
- Understanding of or experience with NAS and/or SAN technologies.
