Job Description

Overview:

Program Managers act as consistent point-of-contact for Design Science clients. Program Managers monitor project execution, including establishing internal and external timelines, tracking milestones, managing budgets/invoicing, and to ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded. Program Managers also play a role in the creation and review of office-wide policies and procedures and assist with implementation of these standards among staff.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project management
  • Proposal writing / execution
  • Kickoff meetings
  • Client entertainment
  • Deliverable planning
  • Client presentations
  • Project budget review / invoicing
  • Addendum requests / billing issue mediation
  • Participation in planning meetings

    Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Participant recruitment management
  • Hospitality during study
  • Equipment mgmt. (inventory, purchasing)

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business (or MBA, MPM) or related field (i.e., product design and development).
  • Minimum 2 years of project/program management experience. Strong knowledge of project management methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Strong leadership: Effective leadership to manage and motivate multiple clients and teams. Proven track-record of ability to successfully lead a team towards a common goal.
  • Finance: Ability to coordinate with accounting for expense tracking, invoicing, and managing the program budget.
  • Excellent communication: Demonstrated effective communication with a wide range of different roles such as software development, mechanical and electrical engineering, industrial design, visual design, and marketing. Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Organization: Excellent organizational and planning skills to successfully manage multiple projects and teams.
  • Strategic skills: Ability to align a program’s goals with the organization’s goals and strategies at all times. In addition, ability to be flexible and constantly formulate plans to keep programs within scope, budget and limited timeframes, which also requires strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work full time at Design Science Philadelphia office and to travel 20-30% of the time, domestically and internationally.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug/health screenings as required.

Additional Desired Skills and Experience:                                        

  • Experience with the design of medical devices and FDA regulations for medical devices.
