Job Description

You will report to the EMEA Regional Financial Controller and across the EMEA region you will:

  • Oversee for the group's internal and external reporting requirements ensuring they are timely, of a high standard with minimal corrections and in compliance with relevant accounting standards and group policies & controls
  • Provide daily guidance to the market finance teams and CCOE on accounting treatment, reporting and internal control matters;
  • Ensure plans, governance and reporting is in place across all stages of Group and JSox audits so that delivery is on time, of quality and risks and control deficiencies are remediated.
  • Guide an informed and compliant financial control environment supporting markets and the region in accomplishing the group's Internal Control Framework & processes

Your main responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate all aspects and stages of the EMEA Group Audit being a point of escalation for Markets, Group Reporting and Group Auditors. Ensure risks are promptly identified and remediated and that governance is in place across all stages of the Group Audit including the remediation actions of all management letter points
  • Support the Group, the FCAT team and all testing partners at all stages of JSoX controls communication, testing and reporting . Support markets to remediate deficiencies and acts as the escalation point on JSoX issues within EMEA Regional Controllership.
  • Support the CCOE in monthly, quarterly and annual review of the financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Co-ordinate market input to support quarterly review calls with the group auditors
  • Guide continuous improvements (capabilities, tools, skills, and efficiency) in financial reporting processes and financial reporting key and non-key control compliance at market and regional level
  • Be the regional contact for the Regional Commercial Finance Team
  • Provide expert technical guidance to the Markets and main partners, referring to group finance
  • Support the development, communication and execution of Group owned internal financial controls and policies including finance, technical and accounting policies ensuring aligned understanding and application across EMEA
  • Develop Controllership induction training material so that control owners and markets across EMEA understand internal control obligations
  • Lead ad hoc compliance and reporting projects including improving processes, supporting specific markets, M&A and software deployment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with substantial regional/global finance experience
  • Experience managing complex audits and providing technical guidance
  • Experience in controllership, with capability in managing change
  • 5 or more years of experience in controllership of which at least 2 within a comparable role
  • Clear record of being curious, shrewd, driving improved financial performance within a business
