Finance M&A Integration Lead

Job Description

Role Purpose

This role has the objective of leading and managing the finance workstream for potential acquisitions from the early stages of due diligence, through deal closure and end state of full integration into dentsu standard finance tools, policies, and processes. In this role you will collaborate with various business stakeholders and cross-functional team members to drive the planning and implementation of finance integrations.

A successful candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of finance processes and systems, organizational skills, business acumen and partnering across the organization.

dentsu’s M&A strategy currently focuses on acquisitions within the “Customer Transformation and Tech” space, with a goal on undertaking multi-market acquisitions to further accelerate our growth in this business segment. For each acquisition, there is a targeted full integration of less than a year, with a focus on protecting BAU performance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the acquisition sponsor, management team and the integration team including representatives from all business areas and functions to set the integration vision and scope aligned to the strategic goals of the acquisition
  • Lead the development of the integration plan and budget reflecting the strategic and financial goals and risks
  • Help the acquired entity management team set their agenda, prioritize workstreams and navigate the dentsu operating model
  • Provide regular progress reporting and support in setting appropriate performance metrics including revenue and cost synergies for the function. Ensures the acquisition fits into any separate governance process for the function
  • Facilitate rapid decision making by anticipating problems and escalating issues when required and making recommendations for course corrections as appropriate
  • Deliver day to day management of the integration, ensuring that key milestones are achieved on time
  • Ensure the due diligence conclusions are appropriately considered in integration planning and be a key influencing member of the core deal team
  • Drive the mobilization of the integration and actively support the due diligence effort, working in partnership with the M&A execution team.
  • Ensure the integration plans reflect the regions and service lines business transformation plans, as well as global initiatives
  • Manage the overall post acquisition integration monitoring for the region, ensuring quality and consistency of the reporting and driving necessary actions with stakeholders

Qualifications

Experience:

  • M&A and integration experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Transformation and change management
  • Finance functional expertise, particularly in Controllership, Operational Finance and associated systems and process
  • Controls and Compliance experience
  • Understanding of dentsu policies, Finance operating model and ways of working 

Skills:

  • Demonstrates leadership maturity and a strong ability to collaborate with multiple levels of the business and functional leaders to streamline processes and work towards resolution of challenges, constraints, and roadblocks and leading innovation across operation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts, risks, and strategies to senior management in business terms, while being able to discuss detailed technical aspects with experts in the business
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to run problem solving workshops and gain consensus on next steps
  • Highly motivated, self-starter
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000-$$110,400. Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
