iProspect Vancouver is looking for a great media professional to join our team leading the media activation for one of our largest BC accounts.

The Role of Senior Media Buyer is critical to the day to day running of the prestige Government of British Columbia media account. You are well versed in traditional media in the Province of BC, know your broadcast, OOH and print landscape bought both as an offline and digital media. You’re familiar with key terms and metrics for both on and offline media.

This role works closely with digital experts on the team to bring together omni channel media plans and activations that deliver in getting important campaigns out to the people of British Columbia.

Job Description

The Senior Media Buyer is responsible for managing and executing client’s media buys in TV, Radio and Print specifically. The Senior Media Buyer-Broadcast works closely with the rest of the media team to understand campaign briefs, work with vendor partners to recommend a plan and ensure the media is secured and ready to be billed to the client. The Senior Media Buyer will have extensive knowledge of the broadcast market, specifically in BC but also knowledge at a National level.

  • Working with the team to understand brief objectives and campaigns
  • Manage buys across various vendors, ensuring we hit planned targets approved by the client
  • Put together costings using Broadcast platform Lens and relevant partner rates to send to client for approval
  • Secure media buys across TV, Radio and Print
  • Ensure media buys are successfully and correctly input into Broadcast booking system AdTraq
  • Update the team on buy status, any issues with inventory, changes in programming or other recommendations
  • Update the team on campaign status in AdTraq
  • Ensuring quality of team buys are consistently in line with key planning metrics; CPPs, CPMs, reach, frequency etc.
  • Building relationship with key vendors, attending meetings, seminars when possible to know the latest in programming or station updates
  • Ensure all media buys are correctly reconciled in a timely manner to meet vendor payment terms
  • Post Buy reports for clients on planned media
  • Billing reports to check booked media is in line with client approval
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding billing issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.
  • Discrepancy resolution, supporting Media Coordinator to problem solve on any issues

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of TV, Radio and Print buying process, the landscape, key metrics involved
  • Use of Lens for Broadcast planning or similar industry tool
  • Strong math and analytical skills; Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Interest in advertising & media buying
  • Strong organizational skills and project management; keeping multiple buys on-track, structuring and executing work. Deadline focused
  • Strong communication skills; Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications; Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner
  • Inquisitive, participates in vendor meetings
  • Proactive problem solving / anticipating client / team needs​
  • “Can-do” attitude and proven ability to work in a team environment
