Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Digital & User Experience, the UI Lead is passionate for brilliant design and frictionless user experiences, has a superb aesthetic sense and a deep appreciation for uncovering simple solutions to complex problems. The position requires an interest in current web and online trends and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively. The applicant will work directly with account managers, creative teams and clients to design engaging digital experiences ranging from websites, mobile applications, and microsites.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the design work produced by multiple members of the UX team, mentoring skill sets and enhancing the overall design output of the team
  • Interact with stakeholders (including client partners) to design and execute UI kits, design systems and pattern libraries
  • Liase as a key client contact, leading projects across clients
  • Quickly assimilate complex and ambiguous ideas and propose elegant design solutions
  • Contribute to user research and synthesis of findings to incorporate into designs
  • Partner alongside the UX lead to establish new ways of working and improving workflow

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience creating innovative and visually stunning user experiences
  • Experience leading a team, estimating projects, and working alongside project management to keep projects on track
  • Strong understanding of UX practices, including sitemaps, personas, consumer research, and wireframes
  • Passion for accessible design, with an understanding of the limitations based on the latest standards
  • Degree in visual design or interaction design (or equivalent)
  • Outstanding design portfolio demonstrating the successful delivery of innovative design solutions that highlight a diverse range of styles
  • Expert experience in Figma, with a strong understanding of component-based design.
  • Experience working with dedicated prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, ProtoPie, Principle, Origami)
  • Ability to create final graphic assets for flawless design implementation
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision
  • A natural diplomat with effective communication, coordination, scheduling, collaboration skills and the ability to stay highly organized are critical
