Job Description

At dentsu, we deliver the most complete performance marketing solution in the marketplace today, and we’re looking for a SVP, Performance Strategy to join our amazing team.  A highly visible role, a central leader for our business today that will be essential to defining, driving and developing Performance for the future of dentsu and our industry. The SVP must have demonstrated balance of imagination and curiosity that is merged with expertise in all thing’s performance marketing, data-fluency and outcome obsession.

The SVP, Performance Strategy will lead performance vision alongside one of our leading agency client centers, development and oversight of the team, delivering the strategic & holistic orchestration of media, messaging and measurement. In addition to leading our Performance Strategy teams, the SVP will serve as a partner to core clients and active in new business for the agency.

The right individual will carry deep media expertise across performance and addressable media channels (search, display, social, video etc.) and an acumen to unite brand and demand media. The SVP will be a thought leader in the arena of accountable / addressable media for our clients and the agency, and they will demonstrate passion and a vision for the possible. The right person for this role will have ambition & desire to create, grow and partner with the best in class.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Performance Strategy team nationally
  • Be a major contributor and driver to evolve holistic vision for performance
  • Central lead in setting approach to performance strategy for our agency, clients and teams
  • Connect and strategically guide client strategy to deliver outcomes, while infusing performance mindset into all major channels and facets of the agency
  • Enable processes and workflows to drive our holistic approach and consistency
  • Expertise in addressable and accountable media are musts for the role; this is a strategically focused role to connect our clients’ objectives to end to end delivery
  • Seek opportunities to improve and grow client business, influencing a broad reaching portfolio of clients at the agency
  • Be active in new business and creating performance leadership talent to support new business development
  • Voice in the industry and for the agency in driving partnerships and thought leadership
  • Roll-up-sleeves leader for top talent in the industry, empowering them to bring ideas and solutions to bear
  • Curate the development of future performance talent across the agency and externally
  • Influence and drive the development of our overall performance product for the organization
  • Responsible for identifying the new and emerging engagement points important for performance product and accountable to influence solutions, products that increase delivery and drive clients, agency and industry forward
  • Leader within and across the agency
  • Passion for innovation and vision are central to this role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of experience
  • History of escalating agency roles in leadership capacity
  • Expertise in performance, addressable media
  • 8+ years managing team members, preferably of large hierarchical teams (20+ members)
  • Comfort and adaptability working within matrix organizations
  • Ability to lead clients & be seen as an indispensable partner
  • Innovative and forward thinker
  • Hands on and collaborative leader with experience successfully leading high performing and fulfilled team
  • Able to identify areas for departmental and client improvement and tackle them head on, with little supervision, and follow them through to fruition
  • Passion for facilitating the teaching/training and support of large Media team on activation planning and process.
  • Anticipate and address client challenges with core and adjacent teams
  • Empowers team and demonstrates empathy and integrity with a positive attitude
  • Is aware of bandwidth of team, team members strengths and weaknesses and where and when to step in
  • Management of people, time and ideas across accounts

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $113,000-$174,500.  Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. The company’s incentive compensation plan is subject to change. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
