Job Description

At the highest level, this position is responsible for being a leader who drives the processes and practices related to implementing analytics for our customers and overseeing the efforts of their direct reports related to these processes and practices.  The Manager is also expected to participate in and contribute to Merkle|Cardinal Path’s overall business management and growth as well as provide feedback and new ideas for Merkle|Cardinal Path’s innovations, team development and client satisfaction.  

The goal for this role is to ensure Merkle|Cardinal Path is delivering consistently deployed, high quality, web analytics implementations, while preparing the team to scale by developing and executing on a training and mentoring program for the members within their supervision.   

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the successful completion of the agreed upon project deliverables within statement of work (“SOW”) scope, time, and budget with quality while consistently exceeding client expectations across all the Merkle|Cardinal Path service offerings. 

  • Evaluate business goals and objectives from multiple clients and develop and document tracking/tagging strategies to allow these clients to measure success through your analytics implementation leadership. 

  • Consult with clients and/or their agencies on projects requiring web analytics platform selection, implementation, platform remediation, and dashboard development 

  • Work with client site and app developers to install, configure & use web analytics services such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics through tag management solutions such as Google Tag Manager, Tealium iQ or Adobe Launch. 

  • Perform/supervise/train quality assurance tests on tracking implementations with tools such as Charles or Fiddler. 

  • Assist with tracking and improving the tagging strategy with analytics team. 

  • Proactively manage and foster client relationships by acting as a strategic advisor to the client by developing a keen understanding of their business and marketing objectives. 

  • Proactively identify potential issues and provide solutions to correct any scope/budget deviations. 

  • Work with the lead responsible for the Digital Intelligence practice area to develop and grow that practice area by creating and cultivating lasting relationships with both clients and internal teams. 

  • Work with the internal team and clients by helping the team apply our thought leadership in ways that will deliver on our clients’ business goals in innovative ways. 

  • Collaborate with other team members to define and refine our processes and practices for performing analytics implementations and other technical services and deploy these with the goal of improving quality of key deliverables across projects. 

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with existing and new clients by promoting ideas that align with client’s business, consumer, and brand objectives across all areas within Merkle|Cardinal Path’s offerings. 

  • Manage a group of up to 3 to 5 technical consultants. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 

  • Minimum 5 years on-the-job experience with implementations of Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics including development of tagging design documentation, customized tagging configurations, data layer implementation guides, debugging, and data validation procedures. 

  • Strong Knowledge of Tag Management Solutions such as Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, and/or Tealium iQ 

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with web front-end development 

  • Strong understanding of HTML and web protocols 

  • Strong client engagement skills: requirements gathering; technical reviews; strategic roadmap development; meeting leadership 

  • Advanced JavaScript skills 

  • Exposure to project management skills, business process redesign principles, tools and techniques is a plus
