Senior SEO Specialist

The role of SEO Specialist at Merkle will support our client's SEO strategies and initiatives to ensure growth in organic search channel. Our success is measured by how well our clients succeed, and this role will play a key part in identifying opportunities for clients’ business growth. These consulting services include reporting, insights, recommendations, and implementation of these strategies across the technology platforms including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Hybris and Adobe Magento. 

 

The SEO Specialist is a critical part of our agency output, managing all search engine optimization activities across our client website. The position straddles both implementation and long term strategy, helping identify trends and opportunities to grow sales and continually optimize the brands SEO presence.  

 

Senior SEO Analyst Responsibilities 

  • Perform technical audits, create recommendations, and provide requirements for client or development teams to implement 

  • Perform keyword research in coordination with client business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities 

  • Audit onsite content to uncover opportunities for optimization and to find gaps for developing content strategy. Perform competitor analyses to demonstrate where client ranks among top industry competitors. 

  • Review wireframes for SEO best practices. Perform taxonomy analyses and provide recommendations based on keyword research and analytics review 

  • Consult with implementation teams during the site build process to ensure SEO best practices are being implemented. Use Jira platform to create tickets, write requirements and communicate with development and other team members. Implement SEO optimizations on site when applicable. 

  • Utilize analytics and SEO tools to monitor, track and report on SEO progress. Develop digestible reports for clients and internal stakeholders. Present slide decks and clearly communicate with clients on a monthly basis. 

  • Work closely with sales, paid media, UX, development, merchandising, PR, copywriting, and creative to maintain a cohesive strategy 

  • Identify key trends and opportunities for SEO, through knowledge of emerging technology and algorithm updates. 

 

Skills and Attributes 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Independent, self-driven and ability to self-start. While there will be a lot of team collaboration, you will be expected to work across several SEO projects.  

  • Aptitude for data analysis and/or a programming language. Strong proficiency in excel is necessary. 

  • Well organized and ability to work in a fast paced environment 

  • Detailed orientated with a high standard for data accuracy and documentation 

  • Comfortable tackling on-site technical challenges and have a passion for technical SEO. 

  • Passion for SEO, tools, technology and ever changing landscape of SERPs.

Qualifications

Prerequisites:

·       College degree or commensurate experience

·       3+ years working experience in search marketing with at least 2 years in a technical SEO role

 

Experience: 

  • 3 - 5 Years experience working in SEO, preferable in ecommerce 

  • Agency experience or enterprise brand experience. 

  • Experience across toolsets to include: 

  • Google: Analytics, Search Console, Drive, Developer Tools, Data Studio, GMB. 

  • Crawling software’s: Screaming Frog  

  • SEO tools: SEMrush, ahrefs, Moz, Conductor  

  • Ecom platforms: Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, Hybris, WordPress, etc. 

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 

  • Ticket management: Jira

 

 Desired Skills:

·       Experience with an e-commerce platforms

·       Experience with major analytics packages

·       Experience with e-commerce SEO

·       Experience with Enterprise SEO tools (i.e. BrightEdge, Covario, Searchlight)

·       Experience with SEO audits

·       Experience with retail digital marketing

·       Agency digital marketing experience

·       Experience working on global marketing campaigns

 

 

 

Additional Information

For individuals assigned to and/or hired in Colorado, the anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000, which is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other job-related qualifications. Pay ranges in locations other than Colorado may differ based on labor market wage rates in those locations.  A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
