Job Description

The Manager, Audience Analytics, will use in-depth knowledge in quantitative database marketing and an understanding of business planning processes to develop, maintain and update reports and forecasts for Direct Mail and Email programs. The Manager provides updates on the performance of the campaigns to the clients and provides context and explanations of unusual performance.

The Manager is also responsible to validate and monitor the models used in the campaigns and identify potential issues & collaborate with the client’s business analytics team to provide forecasting guidance to call centers and marketing program owners. The Manager also provides direction and manages the work processes and output in the manager’s purview independently. 

Perform advanced analytics tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Forecasting using statistical methodology as well as client business rules
  • Responsible for rigorous QC and self-management of deliverables
  • Manages project tasks, timelines, and deliverables, able to self-redirect
  • Manages relationships with other Merkle team members
  • Develops analytical solutions to client business problems, including improvements to forecast methodology

SME in the following techniques:

  • Campaign Analysis and Reporting
  • Data Analysis and Mining
  • Working in relational marketing database and developing codes needed for reporting and forecasting and other analytical insights
  • Presents ideas and findings to account lead and clients
  • Demonstrates thought leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
  • Experience with R required, strong R skills preferred
  • Strong SQL skills required
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality analytical solutions on time
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to explain/present complicated/advanced analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences
  • Develop project plan, program plan, or overall roadmap; manage individual team day-to-day tasks; and meet project deadlines
  • Ability to translate analysis insights into actionable recommendations and strategies for marketers
  • Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning modeling will help a candidate stand out, but not required
  • Experience with Tableau and Python will help a candidate stand out, but are not required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics or related quantitative field required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantitative marketing arena, in database and/or digital (addressable) marketing or similar quantitative field
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience with database marketing concepts and tools such as understanding relational database concepts, Merkle and client data, and direct marketing concepts and KPIs
  • Experience in core analytical competencies such as ability to formulate an analytical problem; QC data and results; Summarize key findings/insights; Make actionable recommendations; and develop new and innovative analytical solutions to solve challenging business problems
