Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. Your role will be to utilize your strong accounting and finance skills to improve existing Accounting processes and develop new accounting functions when necessary and work with the Accounting team on G/L management and the daily operations of the finance function, with a primary focus on financial reporting and analysis. You are somebody who loves accounting and finance and possesses solid accounting and finance skills, has a passion for streamlining and automating whenever possible and is excited about thriving in an entrepreneurial environment, which is fast-paced, often involves wearing multiple hats and all the related challenges and opportunities that come along with that.

Responsibilities 

  • Participate in the month end close process and prepare financial reporting packages for HQ’s reportable entities
  • Reconcile various balance sheet and income statement accounts, intercompany reporting, analyze and propose adjustments when necessary
  • Revamp and maintain accounting schedules and month-end reports.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for operational process improvements
  • Assist with external interim/year-end and internal audits, tax requests and ad-hoc projects (D365 implementation)

 

      Qualifications

      • BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
      • 5-6 years of professional accounting experience
      • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
      • Exceptional excel skills
      • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, AX/365. SAP BPC a plus

      Work Experience Requirements:

      • Experience with accounting and finance
      • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with financial related software (word, excel, and accounting packages)

      Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

      • Ability to handle all aspects of the month, quarter and year end close process (e.g. perform analyzes, prepare journal entries for fixed assets, cash, prepaids, loans, accruals, etc.)

      Desired Skills: 

      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance with at least 5-6 years of relevant experience, or a strong combination of education and relevant experience
      • Media company experience
      • Microsoft Dynamics SL/365
