Job Description

The Associate Local Broadcast Buyer is the day-to-day focal point to the account.  The primary responsibility of the Associate Local Broadcast Buyer is to negotiate cost efficient schedules on behalf of the clients.  Supported by the Assistant Local Broadcast Buyer, the Associate Local Broadcast Buyer coordinates all aspects of the buying process.  The Associate Local Broadcast Buyer is also expected to be proficient with Carat tools (buying tools) and procedures (both Buying and inter-department).  The Associate Local Broadcast Buyer is expected to be an active participant on the business; consistently engaged and contributing ideas and insights that will benefit our clients.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

·       Bachelor’s Degree

·       2-3 years of media buying experience, including at least 1 year at the Buyer level

·       Experience in owning an assigned market

·       Thorough understanding of the media buying process, buying department and inter-department relationships

·       Demonstrated ability to generate and present well-considered ideas and solutions

·       Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment; can adapt plans due to changes in client objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum

·       Strong analytical skills, ability to relate results to client business objectives

·       Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively

·       Media vendor negotiation experience

·       Working knowledge of DDS

·       Knowledge of media research terminology

·       Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
