Job Description

Responsible for maintaining the office building, facilities, and equipment in a safe and operational condition by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs. The role also coordinates with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of building facilities and equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, furniture, and office fixtures.
  • Diagnose facility issues and determine whether repairs can be completed internally or require external vendors.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and statutory inspections.
  • Monitor contractor performance and verify work quality and completion.
  • Respond promptly to facility breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
  • Maintain building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and fire protection equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and service documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support office renovations, furniture installation, office moves, and workspace modifications.

Qualifications

Education

  • Technical diploma or vocational qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in facilities or building maintenance.
  • Experience in a corporate office, commercial building, or industrial environment is preferred.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and basic carpentry.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor building repairs independently.
  • Ability to assess maintenance issues and determine when specialist contractors are required.
  • Experience coordinating external vendors and service providers.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems).

Other Requirements

  • Basic understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Willingness to respond to urgent maintenance issues outside normal working hours, when required.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
