Job Description

Assignment
At the start of the internship, the student will learn, identify and master the tools and
techniques of the products within the Delta Electronics Industrial Automation’s range. After
the basic training of the student, they will start to learn how to use and program our new
Cobot Solution and then how to use it to control the robot arm. Next step will be
understanding 3D ToF camera. Then the student should have enough background knowledge
to start the assignment.

The main assignment is impletementing a random bin picking solution with Delta products.
Key components

  1. Delta D-Bot D16
  2. Delta DOP-100 HMI
  3. Delta ToF 3D Camera

The student will need to implement an algorithm which can recognize and localize an object
placed in a box randomly according to ToF 3D camera information. Then the robot can pick
up the object according to the found coordinates.
 

Tasks of the assignment

  1. Design and wiring of the system
  2. 3D object identifying and recognizing algorithm
  3. Define picking position of object
  4. 3D camera and robot condinate mapping algorithm
  5. HMI programming

In addition to the design of the application briefly describe above; the student will
additionally:
• Learn the salient technological features inherent in Delta motion, drive and
control products to design the RBP application specified above
• Perform functional testing/root cause analysis of product from the customer
• Assist with technical support to our customer when necessary

Qualifications

• The student is enrolled at a school during the whole internship period for 6 months
• Bachelor program with strong knowledge and background in mechatronics or
computer science related fields
• Practical experience with design of hardware & software prototypes
• Some basic knowledge of embedded software and communication protocol
• Some basic knowledge in PLC and HMI programming
• Enthusiastic about technological solutions in industrial automation
